Lone Cloud

I used an ISO of 80 with the daylight setting. I was inspired by this lone cloud because it reflects how I feel at the moment.

Vegetables and Companions

I experimented with three different ISOs and used the incandescent light setting.  These three look the most natural under the lighting. These were shot with an ISO of 100.

Sunset

I took these pictures using an ISO of 400 as the sun was setting. I liked the colors in the sky.

First Outing

Our first outing with C.J. as a family was a success. He loved all the new smells and vistas of Raccoon Park. I shot these photos with an ISO of 200 and the daylight setting during the magic hour.

Happy Birthday Madelynn and C.J.

This is the way Madelynn and C.J. celebrated their birthday today.  I used the macro lens for this last shot, the daylight setting on all the pictures with an ISO of 80.

Sisters

I used the daylight setting with an ISO of 80. You can see from these shots the girls are love one another dearly.

Mother and Daughter

Evalynn and I both love the colors blue and purple, so we had fun posing in my blue nad purple hats. I used the incandescent light setting with an ISO of 100, macro lens, and the self-timer.

Angels while Sleeping

I used the daylight setting and the macro lens for the second shot. I experimented with three different ISO settings. 80 seemed to turn out the best. The title is obvious since this is the only time I can count on the girls being absolute angels.

Veil over Chair

I liked the way the sunlight was falling on the veil that was casually placed on the chair. I took several shots of this image, but only got a few that were in focus enough to post after using my tripod. I used the daylight setting with an ISO of 100.

The Blood of Summer

I used an ISO of 80 with the incandescent light setting. The girls had fun picking these blackberries from the backyard.

Pals Forever

Even in this ungodly heat Madelynn and C.J. enjoy spending time together.  I used an ISO of 100 and the macro lens for this photo.

Veil and Tripod

I used the cyanotype color setting on this last photo to bring out the texure in the lace. Both photos were taken with a daylight setting at an 100 ISO.  I liked the contrast of the soft wedding veil with the hard metal of the tripod.

Hats

I used the tripod to shoot above the hats for a wider perspective, and insure focus. The white balance was set at daylight and the ISO was 100. As you can see, I have a large collection of hats.

Pink Sky

The sky turned this color for a fleeting moment immediately after the storm; so fleeting I did not have time to get out my tripod.  The fact that I used an ISO of 800 made it difficut not to have blurry photos, but in this case I think it adds to the effect of the unusual color in the sky. I used the daylight setting.

"It's Too Damn Hot."

I took several photos today, but it was "too damn hot" to do anything outside. So all the photos were trash except this one. Madelynn's expression indicates just how hot we were. I used  the daylight setting withan ISO of 200.

I'm a Lucky Dog

C.J. clearly thinks he has chosen the right family.  Madelynn continues to become closer to him by the moment.  I used an ISO of 100, the daylight and vivid color setting, with the macro lens.

Welcome Home C.J. the Coonhound!

We welcomed home Madelynn's first dog today. C.J. is Madelynn's eleventh birthday present. We couldn't be happier to rescue C.J. from the small cage he was in at the Humane Society. The folks there were thrilled that C.J. found a family after two whole months. This is one of the rare moments he sat still long enough to take a picture. I used the vivid color and daylight setting with an ISO of 200.

Madelynn Spinning

We shot so many of these pictures Madelynn was dizzy, but these turned out better than I expected.  I used an ISO of 100, the daylight and vivid color setting.

Moon

I took serveral of these shots of the moon using an ISO of 2000 and my tripod. Unfortunately the interesting cloud formations moved by the time I got the tripod set up. I do like the texture of the trees in the foreground.

Madelynn Under a Tree

It was difficult to get good shots in this heat this week, but Madelynn is tough and enjoyed sitting under the shade of this tree for relief.  I used the zoom lens, daylight setting and an 80 ISO.

My Monkey

Madelynn's nickname is Monkey because she has always been more comfortable hanging from things than the average child. As usual focus was an issue, especially when shooting Madelynn's constant movement. I used an ISO of 80 and the daylight setting.

I Did Not Get Eaten by the Shark

I used the daylight setting even though we were inside because of all the daylight coming through the glass.  It was interesting trying to shot the shark at the right moment.

Blue

Blue--the cat--makes photographing her a challenge because she likes to hide from people.  I used the zoom lens to get close enough to him and the daylight setting with an ISO of 200.
